Hard Lesson - Part I

A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning…so can a bad one. 

Melanie had a passion for teaching, problem was, it just didn't pay her enough money.  What's a girl to do?  You have to get by somehow, right?

Melanie is leading a double life, keeping secrets while she works her day job as a teacher.  But some secrets just don't want to be kept.  A mysterious man, prying eyes, mistakes made, all put Melanie in a precarious situation.

As an underpaid teacher with past debts, Melanie isn't doing so well in the financial department. The bills just seem to keep rolling in, especially since she moved into her new condo. She thought a new place would be a good fresh start, but the debt that follows her proves her otherwise.

       School isn't going too well either. The school she works for had just had its budget cut, and now it's making cuts to make ends meet, some of which affect Melanie directly. Not only that, but she also has to deal with Sean Padilla, a smart mouthed senior who doesn't seem to understand or care that his inappropriate language and behavior towards Melanie could place the both of them in a lot of trouble. His parents aren't much help, and she's running out of ways to get through to him, especially when he grows bold and makes a move on her.

       The stress from both her finances and work pushes her almost to the edge and, just when she thinks she's about to go over, her friend Becca offers her a lifeline; she could join an escort service, where she could make as much in one weekend as she did in a week of school. She dismisses the idea at first but gives it a second thought as things grow more stressful in her life.

       Would being an escort really be a bad thing?
