The Baron Finds Happiness

Nineteenth century estate agent Roger Phelps doesn’t want a wife. A blissful bachelor, he expects to spend the rest of his days caring for Alvord Castle, the estate of the Earl of St. John. Twenty-first century Clara Bell doesn’t want a husband. She is far too busy managing and working in her cleaning business. But fairy godmother Hickstrom doesn’t care about what these two want. She has decided they need to find love.

When Clara reads a story from Hickstrom’s Book of Fairy Tales called The Baron Finds Happiness, she finds herself thrown back in time to England’s Regency era, arriving at Alvord Castle. Roger breathes a sigh of relief, certain in the knowledge that she is not meant for him since he is not a baron. Clara wants only to return home. She is not Cinderella, and life is not a fairy tale. Barons don’t marry maids...not in real life, do they? Fairy godmother Hickstrom has plans for Roger and Clara, but since they seemingly are not meant for each other, they ally together to thwart Hickstrom’s plans for them...whatever those might be.
